Chickens!!!!!!!!

Papa in action...
My husband and I love chickens we both had them as kids and we just love them. I am not sure what the love is all about but we just do. So, when the time came and we needed to upgrade the coop, I was thinking something small and attractive, well not him. Having been in building for 10 years he is very, how should I say, methodical. As it turns out we now have a Hilton for chickens in our yard, that is snow white and gorgeous, we have not finished the roof yet so I don't have completed photo. I am hoping once the rain stops and the baby is born we can finish the coop and the painting of the trim. Yes, there is trim on the chicken coop. He built a bed and breakfast basically and now I tease him that it is nicer than anywhere we have stayed...LOL... I love a man that can build :-)... Well, really just mine!
The Run... Being leveled.

And Yes this is my porch. Heaven help me if I can keep these little buggers off my porch. Let me just tell everyone that chickens are VERY messy and your back porch is really not a place you want them sun bathing...

  1. Growing up every year around easter time my parents would buy us chicks. They were so cute and as they grew bigger we enjoyed finding their nests and collecting eggs. I found you on MBC and I am now following you on GFC and Twitter. I hope you will return the favor.

  2. My grandparents had chickens and as a girl I always enjoyed visiting them and collecting eggs, but, they certainly did not live in as a luxurious home as your "babies" will! Have fun! I love the porch picture with your chickens! All the best!
